Renaissance Flare: 1950's Pierre Cardin Wool Coat

I don 't know what Pierre Cardin's inspiration was when sketching the design for this coat, but the collar reminds me of the "Ruff", a detachable collar made of starched linen or lace worn by the European elite during the sixteenth century.

Available on Website: 1950's Black Beaded Cardigan Sweaters

During the 1940s thru the 1960s a cocktail dress would not have been complete without cashmere, angora or knit sweater.  They were not just worn for warmth but for style - an added piece that went from day to evening. They were each made with their own individuality from being simple to decorated with embroidery, appliques, rhinestones, beats or sequins and worn very stylishly with everything from jeans, a long skirt to a thin strap little dress. During the cool months I a try to make a vintage waist fitted sweater part of an outfit now and then. Below are two sweaters available on Miss Sixties Vintage Fashion website with more to be added in the near future.
