The label Shannon Rodgers for Jerry Silverman began there partnership in late1950s. Their dresses were simple but also elegant and always had a cute and distinctive extra detail to top off their designs. As a gift, not only did Rodgers and Silverman donate enormous amounts of costumes and accessories to The Kent State University Museum, Kent, Ohio, they also founded in 1983, "The Shannon Rodgers and Jerry Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising" at the University.
