SCARVES: Hippie Chic

A must-have during the early days and a fashionable trend today scarves can be worn many ways and add an elegant touch to any outfit dressy or casual. But when worn (gypsy-style) extra long, wrapped around the head and tied to the side it always brings to mind the 1960's hippie movement and the young people who were involved. This head accessory made quite a fashion statement during this time when paired with long dresses, wide-leg pants, beaded necklaces, large gemstones rings and platform shoes.

The Pixie Crop

The 1960’s was anything but boring when it came to hairstyles; my favorite being the pixie cut - a style I have worn for many years now. It’s all about the side burns, longer top and tapered back, and a low-maintenance style that can be carried from day to night, worn casually or dressed up. I also love the pixie because it’s diversified - although it requires you to keep the hair short, you're not stuck with one style and can go from having layers, front bangs, with or without a side part, worn straight or with curls. The pixie made headlines in the 1960’s, but as time goes on it's a cut that's here to stay.
