In the early days not only men in pinstripe suits and fedoras found delight in spending their time playing cards and telling stories in smoke-filled rooms, women also explored the pleasure of indulging in not only cigarettes but tobacco pipes and cigars for enjoyment while playing card games and swapping stories. Which brings to mind scenes from "I Love Lucy" when Lucy, Ethel and their friends would pull out the card table in the middle of Lucy's living room and gather for a game of Bridge.
