The Great Cape

I absolutely love everything about the cape! A coat that opens at the front and has no sleeves which are substituted with slits. It’s the kind of outerwear that can be worn with flats or stilettos, with or without a belt, styled with a pencil skirt to add the charm of the 1950’s, a mid-length cape paired with an elegant cocktail dress or the long version for a mysterious medieval-style. I prefer the short cape worn over a pair of skinny jeans or with a pair of riding boots for a more casual look. A vintage cape will always be in style and a great garment to have and a trend here now and for the coming years.

Below a double-face blue wool cape designed by ChloĆ© for the 2013/2104 Fall/Winter collection, and available on Miss Sixties Vintage Fashion website, a 1960's plaid-patterned wool cape in shades of burgundy, yellow and blue fully lined in purple satin.
